Banaskantha is the Second largest district of the Gujarat State. In Banaskantha District, About 90% of the population depends on agriculture.
Area for the APMC covers 7 Talukas of the Banaskantha Districts with a radius of about 100-120 Km from the APMC. The state of Rajasthan is also near the site area.
The proposed APMC will serve as a base to cater the requirements of Farmers of the Banaskantha Deesa, Dhanera, Palanpur, Vav, Deodhar Bhildi and Srihori Takulas. Geographical limit of the APMC has been delineated based on the products, quantity of agriculture produces available and contiguity of the potential area for future expansion.
The APMC will have seasonal supply of large volume of agriculture produce. This would necessitate investment in sufficient storage facilities, proper supply chain to reduce wastage, prevent quality deterioration and ensure timely buy and sell of all the agriculture produces.
To serve the large seasonal produces, APMC has identified significant facilities and required machineries and equipments for the smooth operations of APMC. APMC also enjoys good infrastructure in terms of connectivity, power supply, etc. which will enable attracting prospective entrepreneurs for setting up of their units in the proposed APMC.
